Five Ways Our Dental Technology Enhances Your Experience

Great dentistry combines expert skills and cutting edge dental technology to help you achieve and maintain lasting results.  Mountain Aire Dentistry is dedicated to bringing you the best our field can offer you while maintaining high, green-dentistry standards that protect our environment and keep you healthier during the process.  Dr. Bockrath has streamlined the effectiveness of your dental office experience by using computerized charting, digital x-rays, and intraoral cameras. Read on to learn about the amazing benefits of some of this state-of-the-art dental technology!

Computerized Charting

Computerized (or digital) charting standardizes the charting process so it is clear, easy to understand, and enables Mountain Aire Dentistry to give you more accurate, precise care.  Digital patient records helps to improve treatment tracking, organization and information gathering helping to better communication between Dr. Bockrath, his staff and our patients. This charting method also allows us to quickly and securely share information with your other health care providers when necessary. The use of digital forms saves you time by giving you the option of completing forms online from the convenience of your home.

Digital X-rays

Digital x-rays help the environment, and they help you by offering an improved diagnostic tool for discovering the health of your teeth, mouth and bones.  Here are some of the amazing benefits of digital x-rays:

  • Less Radiation. Digital dental x-rays take multiple intraoral x-rays in a fraction of the previous time with far less radiation exposure than conventional radiography. You get a thorough, comprehensive treatment plan with up to 85 percent less exposure to radiation.  We are committed to providing you with the safest form of radiography available today and that is digital dental x-rays.
  • More Accuracy with Improved Image Quality. The digital x-ray process involves taking an x-ray of your mouth using a small sensor that records the image of your teeth and transmits it to our computer.   The computer broadcasts a highly detailed image of your mouth that can be enhanced, enlarged, sharpened, colorized, or displayed as a negative to help diagnose your current dental health and make recommended treatments. The versatility of the software allows Dr. Bockrath to change the contrast of the image data to help detect issues that wouldn’t be seen otherwise. Being able to enlarge, enhance, or color filter an image gives Dr. Bockrath a more precise view of your oral health and needs.  These capabilities are impossible with conventional film x-rays.
  • Digital Storage Capabilities and Progress Tracking.  Your digital patient history stores all of your patient x-rays to track your progress and can be called up during your treatment process to note changes and reversals. Being able to see before and after images of your mouth can help you be a more active part of the treatment process and give you confidence in the treatment plan you are following. X-rays can be superimposed with images taken earlier so you can visually see the progress/changes during your treatment.  Digital x-rays can expose changes related to:  tooth movement, bone loss or growth, dental restoration work, fillings, or root canals.

Intraoral Camera Dental Technology

Intraoral cameras are better for you, for your dentist and for filing insurance claims during and after treatment. Simply put, an intraoral camera is an instrument Dr. Bockrath uses that resembles an oversized pen but has a high-resolution camera at one end that delivers footage and pictures of what it views in your mouth to a computer monitor both you and Dr. Bockrath can see. This enables you to really see what your dentist sees and better understand his recommendations for treatment.  Intraoral cameras allow Dr. Bockrath to zoom in on small diseased areas, assess cracks and chips and worn metal, amalgam fillings with better precision and accuracy. The full-color images taken with the intraoral camera help diagnose dental problems much earlier on than with traditional dental technology helping prevent serious health conditions and problems from occurring and stopping others in their tracks. Filing an insurance claim is easier with intraoral camera dental technology because your insurance provider can receive these high-resolution images as visual proof of your current condition.
